As the Earth Quaked - The Destruction of the Schildesche Viaduct
This documentary from the North Westfalian Film Series recalls the destruction of the railroad bridge over the Johannisbach Valley in the north of the City of Bielefeld. In 54 bombing raids, the allies transformed the valley into a cratered landscape. On the 14th of March, 1945, the RAF managed to destroy the massive piers of the bridge with the ten ton "Grand Slam" bomb. These bombing raids cost at least 130 civilian lives. Eyewitnesses recall the day when the earth quaked in Schildesche. The film also contains original motion pictures of the air attack.

The DVD is available from the business offices of the Neue Westfälische Zeitung for 9.90 €.
